Terje Ojaver ‘Escaping Stones’
The artist has created an installation, which focuses on the contrast between the depicted object and its ostensible characteristics. Stones, usually perceived as monumental, massive forms, have been made from a light material, which in contrary to their natural state renders these stones mobile.
Terje Ojaver (1955) belongs to the generation of Estonian sculptors who entered the world of art in the mid 1980s. She mainly works in the field of monumental sculpture and has created several significant outdoor monuments. She often combines the language of classical sculpture with paradoxical technical or narrative solutions.
